Janette Hughes is research associate professor and associate dean at the Faculty of Education at the University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT). Her research in the field of digital literacies has been featured in numerous education journals and recognized both nationally and internationally. Janette has earned several awards, including the Ontario Ministry of Research and Innovation’s Early Researchers Award in 2011 and the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) National Technology Leadership Initiative Fellowship in 2013. Before joining UOIT in 2006, Janette served as a classroom teacher for 18 years.
